Fuerte Foundation Actions during 2007
1.- “Cocina Río Gallegos” project, attention to children and mothers.
“Cocina Río Gallegos” is about the construction (dignification) of a Parish (educational room for both children and mothers) located in Barrio del Carmen, Río Gallegos, Santa Cruz de Argentina (Patagonia).
2.- “Solidarity Nursery” project for workers of the Puerto Aventuras hamlet, Quintana Roo, on the Mayan Riviera (Mexico), next to Hotel Puerto Aventuras.
The Puerto Aventuras hamlet is born as a result of the tourist boom in the area. The high demand of labour together with the shortness of resources and on many occasions the lack of a man as head of the family make many single women not have a safe place to leave their children while carrying out their daily works. The hamlet has no infrastructure and is inhabited by workers with scarce resources.
The construction of this nursery arises as a primary necessity for this hamlet, due to the high rate of labour occupation of parents.
Fundación Fuerte is interested in the making of this nursery thus promoting the necessary endowment to improve the infrastructure in the area.
3.- “Family School” programmes implemented in Marbella by Proyecto Hombre Málaga
This is a learning and prevention programme for families showing low control in the responsibilities and rules of the youth. A high level of conflicts between young people and their families, a low level of communication and a high level of anxiety arisen from the relationship between parents and their children.
Three programmes are being implemented in Marbella. Two at the Parish meeting rooms at the Encarnación Church, calle Caritas, Marbella, and the third one at the Parish meeting rooms at the Ntra. Sra. Virgen del Carmen Church, Cerrado de Elviria, Marbella.
4.- Work Training and Social Insertion workshops in the village of Torrox aimed for young people who have had drug problems.
The programme is going to take place at the Torrox Council social-cultural lounge, with address at C/ Armerina, 47, El Convento, Torrox.
5.- Mediator Training Programmes (teachers, orientators, psychologist, pedagogues and psycho-pedagogues, guardians and social educators) within Proyecto Hombre Andalucía.
Training programme for Mediators of all Andalusia aimed to investigate and give contents and method to the prevention programmes of Proyecto Hombre en Andalusia.
6.- Family Schools and Prevention in Schools Programmes, Proyecto Hombre Huelva. Implementation at two Highschools, I.E.S Rafael Reyes and I. E. S. Sebastián Fernández, both located in Cartaya.
Two programmes shall take place: “On Time “Family School” and “Among All” Schools.
“On time” This is a learning and prevention programme for families showing low control in the responsibilities and rules of the youth. The programme shall take place at the social services meeting rooms of the Cartaya Town Hall.
“Among All” This is a training programme aimed to prevent drug addiction at schools.
7.- Social Insertion Centre, Proyecto Hombre Marbella.
The idea of these centres is to create a meeting place to promote the development of behaviours, attitudes and positive values for both children and young people attending these centres. Develop drug addiction prevention by means of leisure and cultural activities to compensate the social and education deficiencies of children and young people, promoting personal development and social integration for themselves and their families.
