Next Tuesday the 2nd of June, the Fuerte Foundation will be giving away copies of the books entitled “The 50th Anniversary of Fuerte Hoteles" and "Andalusian Teenagers and Drugs" to schools and parent associations in Marbella. This action is aimed at encouraging the socio-cultural development of young people in Marbella and preventing drug addiction. The event will be held in the Sevilla Room at the Hotel Fuerte and will be attended by Isabel María García Bardón, president of the Fuerte Foundation and the Delegate for Culture, Education and Women Maria Carmen Díaz García.
“Andalusian Teenagers and Drugs” is the result of a study that Proyecto Hombre Andalucía conducted in the whole region about patterns of drug use among Andalusian teenagers. The study was carried out in partnership with the University of Huelva and with funding from the Fuerte Foundation.
“The 50th Anniversary of Fuerte Hoteles” documents the history of Marbella between the 1950s and the present day, since the time when José Luque Manzano, pioneer of tourism in this area, moved to the capital of the Costa del Sol and opened the Hotel Fuerte.
