The Friends of the Sol Mayor Organ Association have invited organist Juan de la Rubia to give a concert on the 11th of December at 9 p.m. to bring the 2009 season to a close. It will be held in partnership with the Parish of Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación in Marbella, on their organ with five thousand pipes. This event is sponsored by the Fuerte Foundation.

The 27 year old concert organist from Valencia will open this Christmas concert with pieces by Bach, Schumann and Florentz, among others. De la Rubia will finish off the concert with a solo piece to display his virtuosity on this instrument.
Juan de la Rubia is one of the organists from his generation with the most awards. Since 2005, he has been professor at the Escuela Superior de Música de Cataluña (ESMUC) (Catalonian Higher School of Music). He is a specialist in ancient music, particularly pieces by Johann Sebastian Bach, but his versatility means that he can also tackle more contemporary music and he is a well known performer of traditional European organ improvisation. He has also been invited on many occasions to inaugurate instruments, such as the organ at the Tenerife Auditorium, among others.
After winning the First National Organ Prize at the Permanent Competition for Young Spanish Musicians, he started his career as a solo concert organist at the most important Spanish venues and events. He gives recitals all over the world.
Music played by the youthful De la Rubia has been broadcast by both Spanish and international media, such as Radio Clásica, Catalunya Música, France Musique and RTV Slovenia.
