The Mountaineer César Pérez de Tudela will hold a charity conference at the Fuerte Marbella Hotel

The mountaineer César Pérez de Tudela, in partnership with the Fuerte Foundation, will hold a conference entitled “Positive Attitudes when faced with life’s challenges” on the 12 of February at 8 p.m. in the Europa room at the Fuerte Marbella hotel.

The price of the conference is 25 Euros per person, all of which will be donated to social assistance programmes run by the Marbella Horizonte Proyecto Hombre association in the city’s La Patera neighbourhood. On this occasion, the specific aim is to set up a cooking workshop aimed at teaching children hygienic habits, showing them how to prepare various recipes and encouraging team work. Furthermore, a workshop exhibition will be held during the course, where dishes that the children have learnt to prepare will be tasted and displayed.

César Pérez de Tudela is an expert in mountain search and rescue and holds a gold medal for mountaineering and a white cross for his rescue activities. He suffered a heart attack on Mount Everest, an experience he will talk about during the conference as an example of how to confront critical situations with a positive attitude.

After the conference by the mountaineer, the Fuerte Foundation will host a cocktail party. All proceeds will be donated to the drug prevention programme run by the Marbella Horizonte-Proyecto Hombre Association with children from disadvantaged families in the area.

Sobre César Pérez de Tudela

His curriculum features all possible activities related to mountaineering, as well as artistic talent and an academic career. He is a mountaineer, explorer and sport climber, a rescuer and a student of life on summits. He is also a studious artist, an unmethodical philosopher, a writer, a passionate communicator and a poet without verses. He is well known for his strong and wayward character.

Aside from his mountain search and rescue experience, he has dabbled in journalism in Vietnam, the Falklands and the Green March of the Sahara. A notable part of his career was his work alongside Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente and De la Cuadra Salcedo.

He has been directing and presenting a radio show on Radio Nacional de España for several years, entitled “Mountain Adventure”. He is currently working with the programme “El Tirachinas” on the Cope channel, where he tells mountain stories. He also writes for magazines like Infortursa, El Siglo, Peñalara and, from time to time, the newspaper ABC.
