Why does the Fuerte Foundation exist?
The Fuerte Foundation is an initiative begun by Isabel María García Bardón, who is supported by her children and by everyone who works at Fuerte Hoteles. It was conceived with the aim of focussing and managing the company’s urge to help find solutions to problems in its social environment.
MISSION What does the Fuerte Foundation want to achieve?
The Fuerte Foundation wishes to promote the sustainable development* of people (children, teenagers and families) who are in situations of risk or who lack material possessions or culture. The foundation operates in Spain and in any other countries that are approved by the trust, with preference given to those places where Fuerte Hoteles operates. This mission is carried out through providing assistance or creating projects that improve overall living conditions, education, housing and/or human development.

VISION What do we want to be?
An organisation that manages projects with the following characteristics:
Projects that are presented before the deadline and which the foundation has sufficient resources to fund. (The budget for the forthcoming year is finalised before the 31st of December each year. The projects for the forthcoming year are discussed before the 30th of November each year).
Projects that stimulate initiative in children, teenagers (up to 18 years old) and underprivileged families.
Projects that are well adapted to the culture and natural surroundings of the places where they are run.
Projects that are supported by a publically and legally recognised institution (NGO, registered foundation or charity association, religious order recognised by the Church that have a definite system of control in their management). Therefore, assistance requested by individuals does not qualify.
Ongoing projects. (Any assistance for temporary causes that would not be beneficial in the long term does not quality).
Project that fit in with the values, past experience and actual resources of the promoters. (Therefore, it is important that they have statutes or some sort of charter to show the aims of the promoters).
Projects that favour “Self help”. (Where the person acquires a system of beliefs, values and knowledge that allows them to live both physically and spiritually by their own means).
Projects that can receive synergy from the people who work at Fuerte Hoteles. (Projects where the intervention of Fuerte Hoteles workers is feasible during the analysis and execution phases).
Projects whose direct beneficiaries participate personally to work towards achieving the aims of the assistance.
Projects that become self-financing. (Projects that demonstrate that they will generate income to continue operating in the future).
