After beginning his musical studies with his father, he continued at the Madrid Royal Conservatory before going on to study at that Chigiana Academy in Siena, Haalem, Mechelen, Prague, the Solesmes Abbey, the University of Comillas…

He has performed in practically all of the cities in Spain and at many series of concerts, at venues ranging from from the Teatro Real in Madrid and the Palau de la Música in Barcelona to international festivals in Granada, Santander, San Sebastián and Palma de Mallorca. Among these stand out his participation at the inaugural concerts of the grand organs at the Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid and the Palau de la Música in Valencia.
He has frequently worked with the RTVE Symphony Orchestra and Chorus and with many other Spanish and foreign symphony and chamber orchestras.
He is also a regular concert performer in cities in Japan and Europe (Paris, Rome, Ravenna, Naples, Berlin, Hannover, Copenhagen, Helsinki, Luxembourg, Dublin, London, Brussels, Warsaw, Prague, Munich, Bucharest…) and he has given courses on Spanish music at several European venues.
Numerous recordings for Spanish and foreign radio broadcasters, especially for RNE’s Radio Clásica and for TVE ("La Buena Música" (Good Music) programme…)

Member of the qualifying jury for International Competitions (Ávila, Toledo, Saarbrüchen, Berlín…).
Holds a degree in Philosophy and Letters (Hispanic Literature) from the Complutense University and a Doctorate in Musicology from the University of Granada.
He has also been Head Organist at Madrid’s Cathedral and a Professor at the Royal Conservatory of Music. He arrived in Malaga in 1978 in the capacity as Resident Organ Professor at the Conservatory of Music. He is currently Professor of Music History and Assistant Vice-chancellor for Culture in the University of the City of Malaga.
